Film: Dante’s Inferno

May 8, 2007

Graphic novel hand puppets playing out a satirized version of the Divine Comedy. Dante’s Inferno is a new film taking on the old classic using a blend of animation and puppetry. Done without any CGI effects, Dante’s Inferno was animated by hand using a puppetry style made popular during the Victorian era.

Conceived by first time director Sean Meredith, the film features performances from Dermot Mulroney and James Cromwell. Inferno kicked off a festival run at Slamdance and has continued to play festivals around the country since then.

The trailer for the film is absolutely gorgeous. I need to see this thing on the big screen.

Be sure and watch the trailer in HD for the full experience.
