Today’s NYTimes has a great article profiling the prolific photographer, Ryan McGinley. McGinely is about to receive the award for best young photographer of the year from the International Center of Photography. The Times has a great profile of McGinely’s quick rise to the top.
There’s a lot to learn from McGinely’s career. At the age of 21 he set up his own show in a construction zone, sold hardcopy books of his work and marketed himself to all the photographers he admired. A few months later he was being sent around the world and shooting for top publications.
